ERS supports expansion with further senior hires

Specialist insurer ERS continues to develop its team to progress its Commercial expansion by making two new senior appointments to support its strategy to scale existing and enter new divisions including Property, Reinsurance, Marine, Professional Lines and Specialty.

Ciaran Waters joins the team as Senior Underwriter for US Catastrophe. Previously Waters was Head of US Property Treaty at Faraday and held underwriting positions at Ascot Group.

In addition to Waters’ recruitment, ERS announce Dr. Federico Waisman is joining in April as Head of Underwriting Management. Dr. Waisman joins with a wealth of experience gained at Ariel Re where he held the role of SVP Head of Analytics, CRO of Goldman Sachs’s startup Arrow Capital, and at Swiss Re’s natural perils team as head of vulnerability.

Waters commented: “I am delighted to join the team and be part of an ambitious plan to build and grow a P&C business into becoming a sought-after market for brokers. I cannot wait to get started”.

Dr. Waisman added: “Peter Bilsby is building an extremely strong team of underwriting talent that brings both significant experience and an appetite to innovate. I’m delighted to be joining the team and am looking forward to delivering our plan.”

Peter Bilsby, Chief Executive Officer of ERS, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ciaran and Federico to the team. We have recruited some incredible talent to join our expansion and I am excited to see them bring their experience, knowledge and market relationships to bear as we deliver against our exciting agenda.
