Our Credit & Political Risk team focuses on working with our clients and broking partners to provide solutions to their complex geopolitical and financial risk needs.

Our underwriters are empowered to use their market experience in conjunction with the latest data and analytics technology to provide quick and detailed responses. We assess each risk on its individual dynamics. We appreciate that our clients will require support on challenging transactions but where their engagement presents persuasive risk enhancement, we can draw on this for a holistic approach to underwriting risk

Our credit and political risk policies can provide cover on all these risks

Contract Frustration (CF) – Provides cover against non-payment or non-performance by a Sovereign or majority state-owned counterparty. We can also cover pre- and post-shipment, non-performance of a valid contractual obligation or the calling of a valid contractual bond

Credit (CR) – Provides cover against non-payment or non-performance by a non-sovereign counterparty. We cover trade and non-trade structures including loans, RCFs, LCs, receivables, project finance and corporate sales

Political Risk (CEND)- Provides cover against asset loss or loss of an investment in a foreign country including confiscation, expropriation, nationalisation and deprivation, selective discrimination, forced abandonment, forced divestiture, exchange transfer and currency inconvertibility
