IQUW welcomes Andrew Tongue to lead Credit and Political Risks offering

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Tongue as Lead Underwriter to head its established Credit and Political Risk team. Reporting to Chris Wilkinson, Head of Specialty, Tongue will play a pivotal role in shaping IQUW’s enhanced product offering in this space.

The team’s primary focus will be on Credit risks, complemented by traditional Political Risk coverages, globally. A key component of the offering includes sovereign non-payment risk alongside the introduction of derivatives and swaps—specialised solutions designed to help clients manage financial exposures and volatility in uncertain markets.

Tongue brings nearly 15 years of experience in Credit and Political Risk underwriting. Before joining IQUW, he served as Deputy Head of Credit and Political Risk at Canopius Group in London. Earlier in his career, he held senior underwriting roles at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, AXA Africa Specialty Risks, and CNA Hardy, where he gained broad expertise in Political Risks, Trade Credit, and related fields.
